Secret Handshake Designs is here to save you from the milk-and-water threads that have become the standard in the T-shirt industry. We offer shirts designed by cutting edge artists for people who crave something distinctly different, not just some silly pun or clever logo. All our designs are exclusively screened on sweatshop-free American Apparel shirts, a company synonymous with comfort and quality.

Secret Handshake promotes a select group of artists we feel deserve more recognition for their talent. The shirts represent the artists and their work, not our brand name. Our artists hail from all over the country—some we have known for years, others we’ve met through mutual friends, the gallery scene, or out of the pages of a magazine. And to push the promotion beyond the shirts alone, we’ve created an online gallery which features spotlights on the artists and their work.

Our initial run included designs by Abigail Friedman (Chicago), Tim Kerr (Austin), Greg Shirilla (Chicago), and Brett Superstar (Portland). We have since printed shirts by Jeremiah Ketner (Chicago), Nevada Hill (Denton, TX), Thom Lessner (Philadelphia), and eThos (Chicago/Brooklyn). And we have more designs on the way from such artists as Travis Millard, Michael Seiben, and Whitney Superstar. Each artsist’s style is unique to itself and we are confident you will appreciate their talent as much as we do. We are relying on you to help spread the word by getting their work out there and on the bodies of boys and girls everywhere!

If you see something in our store you like, you’ll want to snatch it up right away because each design is limited in quantity.  We want to keep a constant flux of new designs so once one is sold out that’s it, we think.
